Ingredients

Scale

2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and halved)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 oz cream cheese (softened)

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly prepare a baking dish.

2. In a bowl, mix strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10–15 minutes until juicy.

3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth.

5. Pour melted butter into the baking dish, then pour batter over it without stirring.

6. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over the batter.

7. Drop dollops of cream cheese mixture across the top. Do not mix.

8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

9. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth texture.

Do not stir the layers after assembling to achieve the classic cobbler structure.

For extra flavor, sprinkle a little brown sugar on top before baking.
