Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon red food coloring

1/4 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

8 oz cream cheese

1/3 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Melt butter and mix with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.

4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.

5. Stir in buttermilk, vinegar, and red food coloring until combined.

6. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently.

7. In another bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.

8. Pour most of the batter into the pan, add cream cheese mixture, then top with remaining batter.

9. Swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.

10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.

11. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter and better texture.

Do not overmix the batter to keep the brownies soft and fudgy.

Let brownies cool completely before slicing for clean edges and best consistency.
