Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter softened
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup rainbow sprinkles (jimmies)
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter for frosting
2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased baking pan with parchment paper
2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract
4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl
5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, alternating with milk
6. Fold in sprinkles gently without overmixing
7. Pour batter into pan and spread evenly
8. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean
9. Cool completely before frosting
10. Beat butter, powdered sugar, and cream to make frosting
11. Spread frosting evenly and top with sprinkles
12. Slice and serve
