Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 cups chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup chocolate shavings

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a pie dish.

2. Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated.

3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of the pie dish.

4. Bake the crust for 8 to 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.

5. Melt the bittersweet chocolate using a microwave or double boiler and let it cool slightly.

6. Beat the softened butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.

7. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until creamy.

8. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt.

9. Slowly pour the melted chocolate into the butter mixture and beat until smooth.

10. Add the eggs one at a time, beating for several minutes after each addition until the filling becomes silky and fluffy.

11. Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top with a spatula.

12. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or overnight until fully set.

13. In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

14. Add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

15. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the chilled pie.

16. Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

17. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Always allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly before adding it to the butter mixture to maintain a smooth texture.

Beat the filling thoroughly after each egg addition for the signature silky and airy consistency.

Chill the pie overnight for the best flavor, texture, and clean slices.
