  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups buttermilk (cold)
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup cooked breakfast sausage (crumbled)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Cook sausage in a skillet until browned and crumbled. Drain and set aside.
  3. Pour melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish, coating the bottom evenly.
