Ingredients
4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon sriracha or red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil.
2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels and place them skin-side down on the prepared tray.
3. Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional sriracha.
5. Spread the sweet chili glaze evenly over the salmon fillets using a spoon or brush.
6. Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
7. For extra caramelization, broil the salmon for the final 1 to 2 minutes while watching carefully.
8. Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for 3 to 5 minutes.
9. Garnish with fresh basil, cilantro, sesame seeds, and lime wedges before serving.
10. Serve immediately with rice, vegetables, salad, or your favorite side dishes.
Notes
Pat the salmon dry before seasoning to help the glaze stick properly and improve caramelization.
Avoid overbaking the salmon because it can dry out quickly. Remove it once the fish flakes easily with a fork.
For deeper flavor, brush additional glaze onto the salmon during the final minutes of baking.
