Ingredients

Scale

1 (9×13-inch) baked vanilla cake, fully cooled

0.5 cup vanilla or cream cheese frosting

12 oz white candy melts

12 oz pink candy melts

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Rainbow sprinkles or nonpareils

Instructions

1. Crumble the cooled vanilla cake into fine crumbs using your hands or a food processor.

2. Gradually add frosting to the crumbs, mixing until the mixture becomes dough-like and holds together when pressed.

3. Use a small scoop or tablespoon to portion the mixture and roll into smooth balls.

4. Place rolled truffles on a parchment-lined tray and chill for 30 minutes in the fridge or 15 minutes in the freezer.

5. Melt white and pink candy melts in separate microwave-safe bowls in 30-second intervals, stirring between each burst.

6. Dip chilled truffle balls into melted candy coating using a fork or dipping tool.

7. Tap off excess coating and place coated truffles on parchment paper.

8. Immediately decorate with rainbow sprinkles before the coating sets.

9. Let the coated truffles sit at room temp or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until fully set.

10. Serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Always chill the truffle balls before dipping to help them hold their shape.

Apply sprinkles immediately after dipping or they won’t stick.

You can use any cake flavor and customize the candy coating color for different holidays.
