Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

3/4 cup white chocolate chips

3/4 cup red, green, and white candy-coated chocolates

Flaky sea salt, for topping (optional)

Instructions

1. Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.

2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in vanilla extract.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.

5. Fold in chocolate chips and candies, reserving a few to press on top.

6. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.

7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

8. Scoop 2-tablespoon balls of dough and place 2 inches apart on sheets.

9. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers set.

10. Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.

Notes

Chill the dough before baking to prevent spreading and deepen flavor.

For an extra-festive look, press candies and chocolate chips into the top before baking.

Don’t overbake—cookies should look slightly underdone when removed from the oven.
