8 slices marbled rye bread

1 lb corned beef, thinly sliced

8 slices Swiss cheese

1 ½ cups sauerkraut, well-drained

½ cup Russian or Thousand Island dressing

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)

½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)


Instructions

1. Drain the sauerkraut thoroughly and pat dry to remove excess moisture.

2. Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.

3. Place 4 slices bread butter-side down and spread dressing on top.
