This set-it-and-forget-it meal comes together effortlessly and serves up beautifully shredded chicken soaked in a rich, tangy sauce.

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, sliced
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers
  • Optional: 2 tbsp pepperoncini juice

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts or thighs into the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the dry ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the top.
  3. Add slices of butter evenly across the chicken.
  4. Place pepperoncini peppers on top and optionally pour in the juice.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  6. Shred the chicken with two forks and mix with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or inside sandwich rolls.
