Description

If you're craving a quick dinner that's bold, satisfying, and surprisingly easy, this Sweet and Spicy Garlic Steak Pasta is a must-try. Juicy steak is seared to perfection, then tossed with linguine in a garlicky, soy-honey glaze that’s sweet, spicy, and full of umami. Whether you're searching for easy dinner ideas, weeknight comfort food, or a flavorful steak pasta recipe, this one checks all the boxes. It’s the kind of dish that feels indulgent but takes just 30 minutes to make—perfect for busy nights or when you’re entertaining with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

200 g linguine or spaghetti

300 g flank or sirloin steak

4 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or cilantro

Salt and black pepper, to taste

½ cup reserved pasta water (as needed)

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water, then drain.

2. While the pasta cooks, pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Let it rest at room temperature.

3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side until nicely browned. Transfer to a plate and let rest for 10 minutes.

4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add more olive oil if needed. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Stir in soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, and butter. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

6. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat in the sauce. Use pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.

7. Slice the steak thinly against the grain. Layer it over the pasta and spoon extra sauce on top.

8. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and serve immediately.

Notes

Letting the steak rest before slicing helps retain its juices for maximum flavor.

If you're sensitive to spice, reduce the red pepper flakes to ½ teaspoon or omit them entirely.

Always reserve pasta water—it’s a secret weapon for making a silky, restaurant-style sauce.
