For the Sweet Rolls:

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk (110°F or 43°C)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Cheesecake Frosting:

  • 4 oz (½ cup) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp milk (to thin, if needed)

For the Strawberry Topping:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.

  2. Shape and Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Divide dough into equal portions and shape into rolls. Place in a greased muffin tin or baking sheet. Let rise for another 20 minutes. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

  3. Make the Cheesecake Frosting: Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and creamy.

  4. Prepare the Strawberry Topping: Toss diced strawberries with honey and lemon juice. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.

  5. Assemble the Rolls: Spread the cheesecake frosting over the warm rolls, then top with the fresh strawberry mixture. Serve immediately and enjoy!
