Whether you're looking for easy breakfast ideas, indulgent food ideas, or a stunning dish that doubles as dessert, this easy recipe fits every craving.

Ingredients

Scale

4 slices brioche or challah bread

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1 tablespoon butter

2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)

1 teaspoon powdered sugar for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.

2. Wash and slice strawberries. Set aside some for garnish and fold the rest into the cream cheese filling if desired.

3. Spread the filling on two slices of bread, top with strawberries, then close with remaining bread to form sandwiches.

4. In a shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk to make the custard mixture.

5. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides without over-soaking.

6. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each sandwich 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

7. Slice and serve topped with reserved strawberries, a dusting of powdered sugar, and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

Use thick-cut bread like brioche or challah for the best texture.

Always soften the cream cheese to make mixing easier and prevent lumps.

To avoid soggy toast, don't let the bread soak too long in the egg mixture.
