Description

Craving a bold, saucy, and unforgettable sandwich? These Steakhouse Burger Sloppy Joes bring together the smoky richness of a steakhouse burger and the classic, comforting messiness of a sloppy joe. Loaded with seasoned beef, caramelized onions, melty provolone or cheddar cheese, and served on buttery brioche buns—this is your new go-to for quick dinners, weekend meals, or game-day spreads. Perfect for fans of easy recipes, dinner ideas, or anyone searching for a quick, hearty, and satisfying meal packed with steakhouse flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)

1 tablespoon olive oil (if needed)

1 small yellow onion finely chopped

2 cloves garlic minced

0.5 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons BBQ sauce (optional)

1 teaspoon steak seasoning or Montreal seasoning

Salt and black pepper to taste

4 brioche buns

4 slices provolone or sharp cheddar cheese

Lettuce or arugula (optional)

Butter (for toasting buns)

Sliced pickles (optional)

Crispy fried onions (optional)

Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. If using lean beef, add olive oil. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

2. Add ground beef. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, BBQ sauce (if using), and steak seasoning. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. While the beef simmers, butter and toast the brioche buns in a separate skillet until golden.

5. Place lettuce on the bottom bun if using. Spoon on the hot meat mixture, then top with cheese. Finish with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

Use high-quality brioche buns and toast them for the best texture and flavor.

Let the sauce simmer fully to thicken and deepen the flavor.

Use room temperature cheese for smoother melting over the hot filling.
