Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Scoop dough into balls and place on the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers are slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on the cookies before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze unbaked cookie dough balls for up to 3 months and bake as needed.
