Description

Snowball Cookies are a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth treat dusted with powdered sugar. Perfect for holidays, family gatherings, or just as a sweet snack. These cookies are easy to make with simple ingredients like butter, flour, and nuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dough)
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Extra powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until well combined.
  4. Fold in chopped nuts and vanilla extract.
  5. Shape the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just golden.
  7. Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar while still warm. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Roll in powdered sugar again, if desired, for a heavier coating.
