Description

This Smashed Jalapeno Cheese Burger delivers bold, crave-worthy flavor in every bite. Featuring crispy-edged beef patties, gooey melted cheddar, spicy pickled jalapenos, and a creamy spiced mayo—all nestled inside buttery toasted brioche buns. Quick to make and perfect for any burger night!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeno slices
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

For Spiced Mayo:

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Make the spiced mayo: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne. Set aside.

  2. Toast the buns: Spread butter on the cut sides of the brioche buns. Toast in a hot skillet until golden. Set aside.

  3. Heat the skillet: Place a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until very hot.

  4. Shape and smash the patties: Form the ground beef into 4 loose balls. Place one on the skillet and immediately smash flat with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Cook the patties: Let cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to form a crust. Flip, add a slice of cheddar, and cook another 1–2 minutes until the cheese melts.

  6. Assemble the burger: Spread spiced mayo on both bun halves. Place a patty on the bottom bun, top with pickled jalapenos, and cover with the top bun.

  7. Serve immediately: Enjoy while hot and crispy!
