Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup maraschino cherries chopped
2 tablespoons cherry juice
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk or cream
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan
2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt
3. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
4. Add eggs one at a time and mix well
5. Stir in almond and vanilla extracts
6. Mix in sour cream and milk until smooth
7. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients gently
8. Fold in cherries and cherry juice
9. Pour batter into pan and smooth top
10. Bake for 50–60 minutes until done
11. Cool before removing from pan
12. Prepare glaze and drizzle over bread
Notes
Make sure cherries are well drained and patted dry
Coat cherries lightly in flour to prevent sinking
Cool completely before adding glaze
