Description

These Pioneer Woman Apple Dumplings are an easy and delicious dessert made with fresh apples, crescent roll dough, and a rich caramelized sauce. Perfectly baked until golden brown, they are best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

2 large Granny Smith apples

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 cup unsalted butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup lemon-lime soda


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.

  2. Peel, core, and slice apples into 8 wedges.

  3. Wrap each apple wedge in crescent roll dough and place in the dish.

  4. Melt butter and mix with brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.

  5. Pour mixture over dumplings.

  6. Add lemon-lime soda around the dumplings.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
