Description

Parmesan and Spinach Cheese Twists are golden, crisp pastries filled with a creamy, cheesy spinach mixture — perfect for appetizers, snacks, or party platters. Simple to make yet delightfully elegant, these savory twists are sure to impress family and guests alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh sautéed & drained or frozen, thawed & drained)
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced, optional)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: Sesame seeds or extra Parmesan (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine spinach, Parmesan, cream cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

  2. Roll Out Puff Pastry: Lightly flour your surface and roll the pastry to even thickness (~1/8 inch).

  3. Spread Filling: Spread spinach mixture over half the pastry, leaving a small border. Fold the pastry in half to cover the filling.

  4. Slice Strips: Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the pastry into 1-inch-wide strips.

  5. Twist: Hold each strip at both ends and gently twist several times. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  6. Brush & Garnish: Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan or sesame seeds, if desired.

  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake twists for 15–20 minutes or until golden and puffed.

  8. Cool & Serve: Let cool slightly and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
