Whether you’re baking for a holiday party or looking for new dessert ideas, these easy cookies are a must-try. Perfect for quick desserts, holiday baking, and fun food ideas the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Optional: green food coloring

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

1. Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.

2. Add vanilla and peppermint extract. If using, mix in a few drops of green food coloring.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture.

4. Fold in the mini chocolate chips with a spatula.

5. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes.

6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

7. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls and place on the sheet.

8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until bottoms are just lightly golden.

9. Let cool for 5 minutes, then roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.

10. Once fully cooled, roll in powdered sugar again before serving.

Notes

Use softened butter, not melted, for the right dough consistency.

Chilling the dough helps prevent the cookies from spreading while baking.

Roll twice in powdered sugar for that perfect snowy finish.
