Description

These juicy turkey burgers with balsamic caramelized onions and provolone are a game-changer. Healthy, easy, and totally satisfying, this is one of the best dinner ideas for anyone craving something hearty yet lighter than beef. A true must-try in your list of easy recipes and weeknight food ideas.

Ingredients

Scale

1.25 pounds ground turkey (93% lean)

2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

4 slices provolone cheese

4 brioche buns

2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

1 teaspoon salt

0.5 teaspoon black pepper

0.5 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

0.5 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

1 cup fresh arugula or spinach

Instructions

1. Slice onions and cook them in olive oil or butter over medium-low heat with a pinch of salt for 25–30 minutes until golden and soft.

2. Stir in balsamic vinegar and cook until reduced and onions are coated. Remove from heat.

3. In a bowl, mix ground turkey with salt, pepper, and optional spices. Form into 4 patties.

4. Heat skillet or grill pan to medium-high and cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until internal temp reaches 165°F.

5. In last minute of cooking, top each patty with provolone and cover to melt.

6. Toast brioche buns in a dry skillet or under broiler until golden.

7. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, greens, turkey patty with melted cheese, caramelized onions, then top bun.

8. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

Don't rush the onions—low and slow cooking brings out their sweetness.

Use ground turkey with some fat (like 93%) for juicier burgers.

Always toast the buns to prevent sogginess and add texture.
