Ingredients
12 oz bowtie pasta
1 lb ground beef
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1½ cups heavy cream
¾ cup beef broth
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Extra Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta until al dente, reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
3. Push beef to one side, melt butter on the other. Add garlic and onion, sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Sprinkle flour into skillet and stir everything together. Cook for 30 seconds.
5. Pour in beef broth slowly, then add heavy cream and garlic powder. Simmer on low for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until fully melted and sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss gently to coat. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
8. Let the dish rest for 2–3 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for a smooth, rich sauce—pre-shredded won’t melt the same way.
Let the pasta rest after mixing to allow the sauce to thicken and cling perfectly.
Add a splash of pasta water if the sauce becomes too thick while reheating.
