Whether you’re hunting for easy Halloween food ideas, boozy party shots, or just something fun and festive, this easy recipe delivers a frightful punch in every shot. Great for Halloween dinner ideas, adult party drinks, or last-minute treats that leave a lasting impression.

Ingredients

Scale

1 box (3 oz) cherry or strawberry flavored gelatin

1 cup boiling water

1/2 cup cold water

1/2 cup vodka

12 to 15 plastic 2 oz shot cups

12 to 15 candy eyeballs

red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

1. Boil 1 cup of water and pour it over the gelatin in a mixing bowl. Whisk until completely dissolved (about 2 minutes).

2. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka to the bowl. Stir well. Add a few drops of red food coloring if desired for a deeper red color.

3. Arrange the plastic shot cups on a tray and pour the mixture into each, filling about 3/4 full.

4. Chill in the refrigerator for 25–30 minutes until slightly set.

5. Gently press one candy eyeball into the center of each cup and refrigerate for an additional 2–3 hours until fully set.

6. Serve chilled on a spooky platter and enjoy your gruesome party hit!

Notes

Make sure to add the vodka only after the gelatin has cooled slightly to preserve the alcohol.

Press the candy eyeballs into the gelatin only after it starts to thicken so they float instead of sinking.

Store in the fridge for up to 5 days, covered, for best freshness and spooky presentation.
