Description

Looking for a no-bake dessert that’s both spooky and sweet? These Graveyard Dirt Cake Cups are the ultimate easy recipe for your next Halloween party, dinner idea, or quick dessert fix. Creamy chocolate layers are paired with crushed cookies to mimic edible “dirt,” while toppings like gummy worms or cookie tombstones give it graveyard charm. It’s a perfect healthy-ish snack for kids (and kids at heart) and makes an eye-catching treat for any occasion. Ideal for easy party prep or fun food ideas to make with the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

24 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

8 oz cream cheese, softened

0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

7.8 oz instant chocolate pudding mix (two 3.9 oz packs)

3 cups cold milk

8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce, for drizzling

Optional toppings: gummy worms, Halloween sprinkles, candy bones, extra cookies for garnish

Instructions

1. Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. Alternatively, use a zip-top bag and rolling pin.

2. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.

3. In another bowl, whisk pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes. Let it sit to thicken for 5 minutes.

4. Fold pudding into the cream cheese mixture, then gently fold in whipped topping and vanilla extract.

5. In clear cups, layer crushed cookies at the bottom, followed by the chocolate cream mixture. Repeat until full.

6. Top with a swirl of cream mixture, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and decorate with desired spooky toppings.

7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld and set.

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in your cream mixture.

Let the dessert cups chill for at least an hour for better flavor and structure.

Use fine cookie crumbs for smoother layering and better texture contrast.
