Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank)
  • 8 oz noodles (linguine, spaghetti, or your choice)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil (for searing)
  • Reserved pasta water (about 1/2 cup)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

  2. Pat steak dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak 2–4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove from pan and let rest.

  4. In the same skillet, lower heat to medium. Add butter and melt. Add minced garlic; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen sauce if needed.

  6. Add cooked noodles to the pan and toss to coat.

  7. Thinly slice rested steak against the grain. Plate noodles, top with steak.

  8. Garnish with red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, and fresh parsley. Serve hot.
