- 1 lb beef (sirloin, stew meat, or ground beef)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook rice according to package directions; set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and sear until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in flour to create a roux. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth until smooth. Stir in heavy cream.
- Bring to a gentle simmer. Add cheddar and parmesan, stirring until fully melted.
- Return beef to skillet and simmer in sauce for 5 minutes.
- Spoon beef and sauce over the cooked rice.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
