Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (sirloin, stew meat, or ground beef)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package directions; set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and sear until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate.
  4. Reduce heat to medium, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in flour to create a roux. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Slowly whisk in beef broth until smooth. Stir in heavy cream.
  7. Bring to a gentle simmer. Add cheddar and parmesan, stirring until fully melted.
  8. Return beef to skillet and simmer in sauce for 5 minutes.
  9. Spoon beef and sauce over the cooked rice.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
