Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ground beef (85/15)
6 ounces boxed stuffing mix (dry)
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for glaze)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 small onion, finely chopped or grated
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine the stuffing mix and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes to soften.
3. Add ground beef, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic powder, and 2 tablespoons of ketchup to the bowl.
4. Mix gently by hand or with a spoon until just combined.
5. Shape into a loaf and transfer to a prepared loaf pan or baking sheet.
6. Stir together remaining ketchup with a bit of brown sugar if desired, and spread over the top of the loaf.
7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
8. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
Notes
Let the stuffing mix fully absorb the milk before combining to ensure a tender texture.
Use a meat thermometer to check doneness and avoid overcooking.
Resting the loaf after baking keeps it juicy and prevents crumbling.
