Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara or tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, onions, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and onions are soft. Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, half of the parmesan, and salt and pepper. Mix well.

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of mozzarella on top.

Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
