- 1 lb ground beef (85–90% lean)
- 1/2 head green cabbage, shredded (about 4 cups)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots (optional)
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add shredded cabbage and carrots (if using). Cook for 5–7 minutes until just tender.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch (if using) with 1 tbsp water.
- Pour sauce into skillet and toss to coat everything evenly. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
- Turn off heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and top with green onions.
- Serve hot over rice, noodles, or on its own.
