A fast, savory stir fry featuring ground beef, tender cabbage, and a flavorful soy-based sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, it delivers bold flavor in under 30 minutes and works well for meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85–90% lean)
  • 1/2 head green cabbage, shredded (about 4 cups)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add shredded cabbage and carrots (if using). Cook for 5–7 minutes until just tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch (if using) with 1 tbsp water.
  6. Pour sauce into skillet and toss to coat everything evenly. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Turn off heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and top with green onions.
  8. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or on its own.
