This easy banana bread recipe is moist, soft, and packed with rich banana flavor. It’s a great way to use up overripe bananas and requires just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for breakfast, snacking, or dessert!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • (Optional) 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature with butter or your favorite spread. Enjoy!
