Homemade chewy and fruity licorice ropes made with Kool-Aid drink mix for vibrant color and bold flavor. These colorful treats are easy, fun, and perfect for parties or gifting.

- 2 packets unsweetened Kool-Aid (flavor of choice)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup water (divided)
- 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
- Cornstarch or all-purpose flour (for dusting)
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon citric acid or 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and dust lightly with cornstarch or flour.
- In a small bowl, combine gelatin with 1/4 cup of water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, remaining 1/2 cup water, and Kool-Aid. Stir until dissolved.
- Bring mixture to a gentle boil and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the bloomed gelatin until smooth.
- Let the mixture cool slightly until it thickens.
- Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a round tip or use a spoon to form ropes.
- Pipe onto the prepared sheet or roll into ropes by hand.
- Let sit at room temperature for 1–2 hours until fully set.
- Roll in sugar or additional cornstarch to finish.
