Ingredients

Scale

1 prepared 9-inch pie crust

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate (for ganache)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch pie crust in a pie dish—store-bought or homemade.

2. In a heatproof bowl, melt 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup chocolate together. Stir until smooth and glossy. Let cool slightly.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup sugar and 2 eggs until pale and lightly frothy.

4. Slowly pour the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously.

5. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon salt, stirring to combine.

6. Fold in 1/4 cup flour gently, mixing just until no flour remains visible.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared pie crust and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until edges are set and center slightly jiggles.

9. Cool the pie at room temperature for 1 hour.

10. While the pie cools, heat 1/2 cup heavy cream until steaming and pour over 1/2 cup chocolate. Let sit, then stir until smooth.

11. Pour ganache over the cooled pie and spread evenly.

12. Allow ganache to set at room temp or chill for faster results before slicing.

Notes

Always allow the chocolate mixture to cool before mixing with eggs to avoid scrambling.

For cleaner slices, chill the pie for 30 minutes before cutting.

Don’t overbake—it should still jiggle in the center when pulled from the oven.
