Ingredients

Scale

1 pack instant ramen noodles

2 cups water

1/2 cup whole milk

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon cream cheese or grated cheese (optional)

1 large egg

1 tablespoon chopped green onions

1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

1 sheet nori or seaweed flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Gently lower in the egg and cook for 6–7 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath, peel, and halve.

2. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook for 2–3 minutes until just tender.

3. Reduce heat. Add butter, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoning packet if desired. Stir gently.

4. Slowly stir in milk and simmer on low for 1–2 minutes. Add cream cheese or shredded cheese if desired.

5. Transfer ramen and broth to a serving bowl. Top with halved egg, green onions, sesame seeds, and nori if using.

6. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Add milk only after reducing heat to avoid curdling or separation.

Don’t overcook the noodles—they should be slightly springy.

For a perfect soft-boiled egg, boil exactly 6–7 minutes and chill in ice water immediately.
