Ingredients
1 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/4 cup water
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
1 pinch salt
Instructions
1. Rinse the cranberries and remove any that are soft or bruised.
2. Add cranberries, sugar, orange juice, zest, water, and cinnamon stick to a medium saucepan.
3. Stir everything together and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
4. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally as cranberries burst.
5. Use a spoon or potato masher to break down the berries to your preferred consistency.
6. Let simmer another 5–10 minutes until thickened.
7. Remove the cinnamon stick, taste, and adjust sweetness if needed.
8. Let cool for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to clean jars.
9. Once completely cool, store sealed jars in the fridge.
Notes
Use a potato masher during cooking for a smoother jam consistency.
If you prefer a thinner jam, add a splash more water during cooking.
For longer storage, freeze or use water bath canning methods.
