Description

These Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Roll-Ups are a playful twist on traditional French toast. Soft bread slices are rolled up with optional fillings, dipped in a rich egg mixture, fried until golden, then rolled in cinnamon sugar. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese or Nutella (optional filling)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Flatten each bread slice with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or Nutella on one side if using.
  3. Roll each slice tightly and press the edge to seal.
  4. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, coating all sides.
  7. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Cook roll-ups, turning often, until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).
  9. While still warm, roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  10. Serve with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or syrup if desired.
