Description

Looking for a dessert that’s easy to make yet irresistibly indulgent? Catch a Husband Cake is a rich and creamy Brazilian classic, known as *Bolo pega-marido*. With its custard-like texture, tropical coconut flavor, and golden crust, this cake practically melts in your mouth. Perfect for those seeking quick breakfast treats, easy dinner desserts, or standout food ideas for gatherings. It’s a comforting, crowd-pleasing, and beautifully simple cake that will leave everyone asking for seconds—and maybe even your hand in marriage.

Ingredients

Scale

395 ml sweetened condensed milk

200 ml coconut milk

250 ml whole milk

3 large eggs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

100 grams grated coconut (half for the batter, half for topping)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt or round cake pan with butter and dust with flour or coconut.

2. In a blender, combine sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, whole milk, eggs, melted butter, flour, and half the grated coconut. Blend until smooth.

3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and tap gently to remove air bubbles.

4. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.

5. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes before unmolding.

6. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle the remaining grated coconut on top while still warm.

7. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

8. Store leftovers in the refrigerator or freeze slices for later.

9. Optional: Top with whipped cream or tropical fruits for serving.

Notes

For best flavor and texture, use full-fat coconut milk and high-quality sweetened condensed milk.

Let the cake cool slightly before unmolding to prevent it from breaking.

Chilling the cake enhances its dense, creamy texture—perfect if you love a flan-like finish.
