Ingredients

Scale

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley

Zest of half a lemon (optional)

Instructions

1. Rinse and pat the shrimp dry completely with paper towels.

2. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

4. Add shrimp in a single layer and sear for 1–2 minutes on each side until pink and curled.

5. Lower the heat, add garlic and remaining butter, and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.

6. Remove from heat, add lemon juice, parsley, and lemon zest. Toss to coat.

7. Serve immediately with rice, pasta, or bread.

Notes

Always pat the shrimp dry before cooking to get a nice sear.

Add the garlic after the shrimp has cooked halfway to avoid burning.

For extra sauce, simply double the butter and garlic quantities.
