Ingredients

Scale

67 medium apples, peeled and sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3/4 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Peel, core, and slice the apples evenly.

3. In a large bowl, toss the apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

4. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

5. In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.

6. Add cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fingers to mix until it forms coarse crumbs.

7. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples without pressing it down.

8. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and apples are bubbly.

9. Let it rest for 10–15 minutes before serving.

10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or toppings of choice.

Notes

Use a mix of apple varieties like Honeycrisp and Granny Smith for the best flavor and texture.

For a gluten-free version, substitute almond flour or gluten-free flour for all-purpose flour.

To enhance the flavor and texture, add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping.
