Ingredients
2 large russet potatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon black pepper
0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
0.5 teaspoon onion powder
Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Peel and shred the russet potatoes. Rinse the shreds in cold water to remove excess starch.
2. Drain and transfer the potatoes to a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel. Squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
3. Place the dried shreds in a mixing bowl. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Spread the potato mixture in a thin, even layer. Do not overcrowd.
6. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Best served hot and crispy. You can customize with cheese or herbs. For batch cooking, keep cooked hash browns warm in the oven at 200°F while finishing other batches.
